Aspects of a physical fitness program
Physical fitness programs are very important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. However, implementing one may be difficult. For this reason we have designed a fitness program for adults with all of the basic components one needs to know to be successful. Both starting and continuing a fitness program is no easy task. Here we will provide the information necessary to be successful, but the motivation to follow through with the program is up to the participant.
This program includes a variety of information on exercises for different parts of you body, as well as basic information on overall health. The details on these aspects are provided in the form of video of PowerPoint, and can be referenced at out website as frequently as necessary. All you need is a computer, a pair of gym shoes, and some motivation to be on your way to a healthier lifestyle.
The following is a brief description of the technology in each component of this program:
In the outline of the fitness program PowerPoint topics are included such as: an overview of the program, the importance of exercise, why to warm up and cool down, basic aspects of upper and lower body, motivation and healthy eating. Also included is a general overview of all topics in graph form.
The warm up, stretching, and cool down video was created using iMovie. This includes important aspects surrounding a workout., and explains the importance of warming up, stretching, and cooling down. This video also included a chart of static stretches one should consider using. The video was recorded in segments and then put together with voice over recordings.
The lower extremity video includes a few exercises for your lower body, and the proper technique to follow in doing these exercises. The video covers three main exercises: squat, lunge, and calf raise. This video included extra diagrams to help demonstrate proper form in avoidance of injury.
In the upper extremity video the use of a photo slideshow was implemented. This aided with the demonstration of various lifts in that it provided a still-frame view of each one. Windows Movie Maker was used to edit the video and a microphone provided narration throughout the film. The microphone was an excellent solution for narration in that audio quality in the video was poor due to the environment the film was shot in (weight room).
In the core and stability PowerPoint we were able to implement a novel technology offered in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 and 2012, this technology being photo shop. It allowed for cropping, editing out backgrounds, and enhancing of the photos in the PowerPoint. PowerPoint provided a multimedia platform for demonstrating skills associated with core and stability.
The additional factors related to fitness PowerPoint was used to show other health ideals to keep in mind when keeping a healthy lifestyle. PowerPoint was used in order to provide information in written form on slides, as well as in audible form using voice-overs. This PowerPoint also included a pie chart designed in Excel for the purpose of demonstrating the percentage intake of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and vitamins/minerals in daily eating habits.
The additional technological features included in the overall program are: Photoshop tool on PowerPoint to edit photos, inserting a photo slideshow, charts/graphs within videos, adding a movie to PowerPoint, and the instant replay function in iMovie. These added features helped to explain and display exactly what each part of the fitness program suggested.
All in all, this fitness program outlines the knowledge of exercises and overall health necessary to succeed in living a healthy and active lifestyle. The technology used aided in marketing the program to an audience well versed in technology. Hopefully after implementing this program the user will feel more knowledgeable and comfortable in actively living healthy.
